“LA-LA LOCO BABY!” (Writer/ Producer)

GENRE: Action-Comedy

LOGLINE: Dreams? Everyone’s got dreams… this is LA-LA Land!

SYNOPSIS:

Mitch, a rookie cop working as an undercover “narc” in LA, suffers from narcoleptic fits. In the middle of

an assignment, he meets and falls in love with Keiko, an irresistible Japanese naïf and runaway daughter

of a Yakuza boss. When it's revealed she is a kunoichi warrior in the U.S. to find and bring home Toshi –

a young adept displaying prodigious, though immature and unstable ‘magical’ powers, he becomes caught

up in an unlikely Hollywood adventure involving the Russian mob, his new girl, the Japanese Yakuza,

and his conflicted past.

CAST:

KEIKO (21) – To all outward appearances a kawaii Harajuku girl, Keiko is in LA to protect her father’s

position as a Yakuza boss. Using all she has learned as a kunoichi (female ninja) she must find Toshi,

who is pivotal to a successful outcome, and bring him safely home.

TOSHI (13) – Considered the reincarnation of one of the Masters of the Far East, Toshi has all the human

attributes of a pre-pubescent boy, and although still maturing, all the attributes and abilities of an adept far

beyond his years. Toshi just IS.

The Cops:

MITCH (26) – joined the force to find his (cop) father’s killer but has come down with a weird case of

narcolepsy that has him spiralling through random images of Japanese anime (featuring Keiko in a starring

role), his past, and what he thinks might be his future.

DIESEL (48) – Mitch’s angry, streetwise partner, with a potentially lethal hidden agenda, who, under

pressure from Captain Ram is forced to show him the ropes.

CAPTAIN RAM (56) - An old family friend, and Mitch's mentor within the Department.

The Gang Bosses:

KAZIMIR (46) - Erudite though brutal, a disillusioned Russian mobster willing to go to extreme lengths

to make a fast fortune in LA and return home an influential Vor.

BINYA (24) – Keiko’s ex-boyfriend, is in LA for various diabolical reasons, including gathering enough

bounty to secure his Yakuza army and territory in Japan. He captures Toshi, hoping his dominion over

such an important cultural symbol will enhance his stature, and to use Toshi’s gifts to accumulate more

for himself and his domain.
